Voices from California's Death Row

Sean Vines

1.      Not.  For a lot of us who are factually innocent, the appeal process is the only way for us to regain our freedom.

2.      By having LWOP, we’re forced to continue our appeal without the attorney. If/when we mess up our appeal, there’s no one to blame but ourselves.  We’re stuck.

3.      I would rather work to support myself than have to rely on the generosity of others.

4.      I’m doing it now, so what’s the difference?  (I’ve done it before.)

5.      Go back to the beginning and fix the corrupt laws, attorneys, judges, who railroad those without money.

6.      If I had my way,  I say hire competent habeas attorneys so that those who are innocent can be freed.
