The Henry County Jail is a medium-security detention center located in Abbeville, Alabama. Operated locally by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, this jail holds inmates who are awaiting trial or sentencing. The Henry County Sheriff’s Department has the largest number of law enforcement officers in the county and is the largest facility in Alabama. The current Sheriff was sworn in as Sheriff in September 2009.

Visitation Rules
Henry County Jail requires all visitors to fill out an application prior to visitation. If you want to visit an inmate at Henry County Jail, carefully fill out the application. The Henry County Jail reserves the right to deny any person the right to enter the jail it chooses and for any reason.
Jail visits are conducted in person behind plexiglass or on a televised screen from another location. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and guardians must provide proof of their guardianship. Inmates may have two visitors during each visit.
