The LA County Central Juvenile Hall is a medium-security detention center located in Los Angeles, California. Operated locally by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office, this jail holds inmates who are awaiting trial or sentencing. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has the largest number of law enforcement officers in the county and is the largest facility in California. The current Sheriff was sworn in as Sheriff in September 2009.
