Commissary

A commissary is a store within the jail. Inmates who have money on their accounts can buy snacks and other things from the commissary.

The Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility’s Commissary sells various products like clothing, shoes, snacks, personal hygiene products, books, magazines, and games.

Inmates at Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility may use telephones that are in their cells. Calls are free within the local dialing area. Collect call phones are available to make calls outside of the local dialing area. The inmates are limited to 15-minute phone calls, and the calls are terminated at 15 minutes.

Visitation at Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility is a privilege, not a right.

Each inmate is allowed one 30-minute visit three times a week. A maximum of two adults will be allowed to visit at any one time.

A dress code is enforced for all visitors coming in to visit. Wearing inappropriate clothing (such as provocative or revealing clothes) will result in denied visitation.
