Opened since 1984, Gadsden County Corrections is a medium-security detention center located in Quincy, Florida. This facility was originally designed to house a total of 157 inmates, but by 2004, the Gadsden County Corrections experienced over a 240% increase in the average daily population for the facility and needed to expand.

Currently, 40 Corrections Deputies, 5 Corrections Sergeants, and 1 Lieutenant are responsible for providing safe and secure housing for inmates being held in the custody of the Gadsden County Corrections.

Gadsden County Corrections offers a Jail Alternatives Program which offers alternative programs to qualifying inmates. Such alternatives include Work Release, Community Service, and Electronic Home Monitoring.

Send a Mail/Package

Inmates at Gadsden County Corrections may receive only metered, unstamped, plain white postcards no larger than 4" x 6" as mail. Writing must be in pencil or blue or black ink. Any other mail will be returned to the sender.

If no return address is available, unauthorized mail will be stored in the inmate's locker until the inmate's release.

Sending Money

The Gadsden County Corrections accepts money for inmates 24 hours a day via the kiosk in the jail lobby. The kiosk accepts cash and credit/debit cards. Money orders will be accepted through the mail. All money orders must be made out to "Gadsden County Corrections". Money can also be sent to the inmate’s account online using JPay services.

The Gadsden County Corrections does not accept personal checks for inmates.

Visitation Rules

Visitation occurs via video from the visitor’s home/device or in the lobby of the Gadsden County Community Justice Center which is located at 339 East Jefferson Street, Quincy, FL, 32351. Inmates are usually allowed one 40-minute visits per week. Each inmate may have two visitors at a time.

ONSITE video visitation:

  • Once per week per inmate

  • You can schedule an appointment online or at the Gadsden County Corrections lobby

  • Minors (under 18 years of age) must be supervised by an approved adult during the entire duration of the visit.

  • Anyone appearing to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol will not be allowed to visit

  • All visitors must wear appropriate clothing including shoes and shirts.

  • Jail staff may refuse a visit due to inappropriate dress or conduct while visiting

Offsite visitors must provide their own equipment and the necessary internet connections to participate in video visiting.

Visitation must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance, but no more than 14 days in advance.
