The James I. Montgomery Correctional Center is a medium-security detention center located in Jacksonville, Florida. Operated locally by the Duval County Sheriff’s Office, this jail holds inmates who are awaiting trial or sentencing. The Duval County Sheriff’s Department has the largest number of law enforcement officers in the county and is the largest facility in Florida. The current Sheriff was sworn in as Sheriff in September 2009.
