The Richmond County Law Enforcement Center is a medium-security prison that is located in Augusta, Georgia. It is specifically operated by the Montgomery Sheriff’s Office but also does accept prisoners from surrounding towns and municipalities.
The Richmond County Law Enforcement Center also has a law library which inmates can access Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 AM and 3 PM. Inmates have a “first come, first serve” basis when it comes to the library.
Some of these inmates are awaiting trial, some have been convicted, and some are waiting to be moved. There is a staff of over 260 civilian members, as well.
Commissary is offered five days a week, from Monday through Friday. There is a wide range of food products, including chips, snacks, beverages, teas, water, and more. Laundry is also delivered from Monday through Friday. Uniforms and towels are delivered twice a week.
