The Valley County Correctional Facility is a medium-security detention center located in Cascade, Idaho. Operated locally by the Valley County Sheriff’s Office, this jail holds inmates who are awaiting trial or sentencing. The Valley County Sheriff’s Department has the largest number of law enforcement officers in the county and is the largest facility in Idaho. The current Sheriff was sworn in as Sheriff in September 2009.
Inmates at Valley County Correctional Facility have the opportunity to participate in programs, including education, counseling, substance abuse, and religious services. They are given three meals a day and are allowed to purchase snacks from the commissary. They are given an hour of recreational time each day where they are encouraged to go outside.
