Valley County Juvenile Detention Center currently does not publish inmates’ information on their website. If you want to get information on an inmate at this facility, you can call the jail at 208-634-4131.

Inmates at Valley County Juvenile Detention Center may receive only metered, unstamped, plain white postcards no larger than 4" x 6" as mail written in black or blue ink.

Make sure you include your full first and last name on the return address. If no return address is available, unauthorized mail will be stored in the inmate's locker until the inmate's release.

Magazines and books may be sent to an inmate if they are directly from the publisher.

If you want to send money to an inmate’s account, use one of the following options:

• The kiosk (located in the lobby of the Valley County Juvenile Detention Center) using Cash or Visa / Master Card. There is a minimum $2.50 fee.

• Online by visiting JailATM. There is a minimum $2.50 fee.

The Valley County Juvenile Detention Center does not accept cashier’s checks or money orders.

The Inmate Debit Calling program uses Global Tel Link (GTL) for Valley County Juvenile Detention Center and now offers two kinds of prepaid phone accounts:

• AdvancePay Phone Account: This prepaid account lets the inmate make calls to certain phone numbers using funds that you have deposited in the account. You can learn more about GTL’s AdvancePay.

• Inmate PIN Debit Phone Account: These accounts let inmates pay for their own phone calls and call any phone number allowed by their facility. Find out more about GTL’s Inmate PIN Debit phone service.

Visitors must be registered on the Valley County Juvenile Detention Center’s visitation website and have selected the inmate who is being visited. Visitors have the ability to schedule a visit from home on a tablet or phone. Visitor registration can also be done by using the kiosk in the jail lobby.

Inmates are allowed one 25-minute video visit per week by no more than four visitors at a time. During on-site visitation, Valley County Juvenile Detention Center has five on-site visitation units available.

Appropriate attire is required during video visits.

All visits must be scheduled at least two days in advance but no more than six days in advance.
