Morris Jail is a medium security detention center for adult inmates that is locally operated by the Morris City Police Department. This facility serves the city of Morris and the surrounding area.
The Morris Jail houses inmates that have been convicted of crimes and serving a sentence that is 12 months or less as well as those who are still awaiting trial. Inmates that are sentenced for more than 12 months are transferred to a federal or state prison.

Inmates at Morris Jail are allowed to receive 4"x 6 " plain white postcards in the mail that are metered, unstamped with a pencil or blue or black ink only.
