The Will County Detention Facility is a medium-security detention center located in Joliet, Illinois. Operated locally by the Will County Sheriff's Office, this jail holds inmates who are awaiting trial or sentencing. The Will County Sheriff's Department has the largest number of law enforcement officers in the county and is the largest facility in Illinois. The current Sheriff was sworn in as Sheriff in September 2009.
