The Jackson County Juvenile is a medium-security detention center located in Brownstown, Indiana. Operated locally by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, this jail holds inmates who are awaiting trial or sentencing. The Jackson County Sheriff's Department has the largest number of law enforcement officers in the county and is the largest facility in Indiana. The current Sheriff was sworn in as Sheriff in September 2009.
