The Rawlins County Jail is a medium-security detention center located in Atwood, Kansas. Operated locally by the Rawlins County Sheriff’s Office, this jail holds inmates who are awaiting trial or sentencing. The Rawlins County Sheriff’s Department has the largest number of law enforcement officers in the county and is the largest facility in Kansas. The current Sheriff was sworn in as Sheriff in September 2009.
