The Sedgwick County Youth Aftercare Program is a medium-security detention center located in Wichita, Kansas. Operated locally by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, this jail holds inmates who are awaiting trial or sentencing. The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department has the largest number of law enforcement officers in the county and is the largest facility in Kansas. The current Sheriff was sworn in as Sheriff in September 2009.

Inmates at Sedgwick County Youth Aftercare Program have the opportunity to participate in programs, including education, counseling, substance abuse, and religious services. They are given three meals a day and are allowed to purchase snacks from the commissary. They are given an hour of recreational time each day where they are encouraged to go outside.

Visitation Rules

Sedgwick County Youth Aftercare Program requires all visitors to fill out an application prior to visitation.
