Why do inmates need money you may ask?

Inmates will need money in their accounts to pay any fees associated with their stay in the facility, to call home, to send letters home, and to purchase various items from the prison’s commissary.

You can send money by money order, MoneyGram, and even Western Union.

Phone Calls

Communication is a big deal for inmates and families alike. You will not be permitted to contact the USP Leavenworth to talk to the inmate, but they will be able to pick up the phone to contact you.

Inmates will be responsible to have money in their phone account to ensure they can make these calls. All calls will be limited to 15-minutes. Inmates will have 300 minutes of phone time a month from January to October to use. During the holiday's inmates will get an extra 100 minutes a month they can use.
