The Wicomico County Department of Corrections is a medium-security detention center located in Salisbury, Maryland. Operated locally by the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office, this jail holds inmates who are awaiting trial or sentencing. The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department has the largest number of law enforcement officers in the county and is the largest facility in Maryland. The current Sheriff was sworn in as Sheriff in September 2009.
Inmates at Wicomico County Department of Corrections have the opportunity to participate in programs, including education, counseling, substance abuse, and religious services. They are given three meals a day and are allowed to purchase snacks from the commissary. They are given an hour of recreational time each day where they are encouraged to go outside.

Wicomico County Department of Corrections requires all visitors to fill out an application prior to visitation.
