Sending Money
The Baltimore Pre-Release Unit gives you just one way to send money to an inmate.
You can find that way directly on the Maryland Department of Corrections' official website.
You will be able to make more than one deposit per calendar week now. You will have a limit of $100 per their commissary account and $100 per their telephone account. Funds will be transferred into the inmates account within 3 business days.
When using this service, you will need to know the inmate’s Maryland DOC number along with their date of birth.
Phone Calls
Inmates will have access to the use of a telephone, in which they can call home if they choose to.
All calls coming from the Baltimore Pre-Release Unit has the right to be monitored and recorded. General Population inmates will have a maximum of 30 minutes a day to use the telephone.
Inmates will be responsible for paying all charges that are associated with using the telephone.
Visitation Rules
For you to visit an inmate in the Baltimore Pre-Release Unit, you will need to fill out the following application. You will then need to wait for the application to be approved.
The Baltimore Pre-Release Unit will accept walk-in visits between the days of Thursdays to Sundays between the hours of 8:30 am to 10:30 am and 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
However, if an inmate you are looking to visit is housed either the medium custody unit or the closed custody unit, you will be permitted to visit them between the days of Thursdays to Sundays between the hours of 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
