The Metropolitan Region - Department of Youth Services will accept money being sent to them from three different methods. These methods are the following:

  • Lock Box

  • Mail a Money Order or a Check

If an inmate needs funds within the next few days, it is best to use the electronic funds transfer. However, you will be paying a service fee, but the inmate will receive the funds within 1-3 business days.

If you opt-in to use the lockbox or mailing methods, there is no fee to use them, but they will take longer than the electronic funds transfer.

Phone Calls

The Metropolitan Region - Department of Youth Services is big on keeping communication lines open between the inmates and their family. Inmates will have the chance to contact their family members.

Inmates will be able to make 15-minute phone calls home. This phone calls home will be monitored by prison staff to ensure the safety for everyone involved.

These phone calls will be at the inmate or the family’s expense, so inmates will need money in their commissary accounts.
