The Kent County Honor Camp is a medium-security detention center located in Gowen, Michigan. Operated locally by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, this jail holds inmates who are awaiting trial or sentencing. The Kent County Sheriff’s Department has the largest number of law enforcement officers in the county and is the largest facility in Michigan. The current Sheriff was sworn in as Sheriff in September 2009.
