Their inmate roster is updated on a regular basis and easy to use. All you really need is the inmate’s full name or the BOP number that is assigned to the inmate.

The first way is general correspondence. General correspondence is where the mail will be opened in the mailroom by a prison staff member, but not in front of an inmate. Once it gets checked by the prison staff member, the mail then will be delivered to the inmate it is addressed to.
The second way is a special mail. Special mail is typically the inmate’s counsel sending them legal documents. This will be opened in the mailroom by a prison staff member but in front of an inmate. Once it gets checked by the staff member, it will be given to the inmate right then and there.
