The Sunflower County Jail is a medium-security detention center located in Indianola, Mississippi. Operated locally by the Sunflower County Sheriff's Office, this jail holds inmates who are awaiting trial or sentencing. The Sunflower County Sheriff's Department has the largest number of law enforcement officers in the county and is the largest facility in Mississippi. The current Sheriff was sworn in as Sheriff in September 2009.
