Inmates at Reno Jail are allowed to send as well as receive letters in the mail. If you would like to send an inmate a letter you will have to send a 4"x 6 " plain white postcard that is metered. Be sure to use a pencil or blue or black ink only.

All other mail will be sent back to the sender or released to the inmate once they are released.

Sending Money

Inmates that are held in the Reno Jail do not have a way to receive money from loved ones while they are there. Inmates have all of their needs provided for them while they are held here so they do not need any money.

Phone Calls

All inmates at Reno Jail get phone time to call their family and friends. Phone time is limited to 15 minutes then the call is disconnected when the time runs out. Inmates are only allowed to make collect calls and they are not allowed to receive calls.

Visitation Rules

Inmates at Reno Jail are allowed to have visitors every week. Children 17 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a parent or their legal guardian.

You will be required to present your government-issued photo ID before you are allowed to go into the visitation area.

Remember to leave all of your personal belongings in your vehicle. This includes your cell phone.

The Reno Jail staff can deny visitation if you are not dressed appropriately so be sure to be dressed in clothing that is not revealing or offensive.
