The Onondaga County Correctional Facility is a medium-security detention center located in Syracuse, New York. Operated locally by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, this jail holds inmates who are awaiting trial or sentencing. The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department has the largest number of law enforcement officers in the county and is the largest facility in New York. The current Sheriff was sworn in as Sheriff in September 2009.
