Opened since 1984, Cabarrus County Detention Center is a medium-security detention center located in Concord, North Carolina. This facility was originally designed to house a total of 665 inmates, but by 2004, the Cabarrus County Detention Center experienced over a 240% increase in the average daily population for the facility and needed to expand.
Currently, 40 Corrections Deputies, 5 Corrections Sergeants, and 1 Lieutenant are responsible for providing safe and secure housing for inmates being held in the custody of the Cabarrus County Detention Center.
Cabarrus County Detention Center offers a Jail Alternatives Program which offers alternative programs to qualifying inmates. Such alternatives include Work Release, Community Service, and Electronic Home Monitoring.

Send a Mail/Package
Inmates at Cabarrus County Detention Center may receive only metered, unstamped, plain white postcards no larger than 4" x 6" as mail. Writing must be in pencil or blue or black ink. Any other mail will be returned to the sender.
If no return address is available, unauthorized mail will be stored in the inmate's locker until the inmate's release.

Sending Money
The Cabarrus County Detention Center accepts money for inmates 24 hours a day via the kiosk in the jail lobby. The kiosk accepts cash and credit/debit cards. Visitation Rules
Visitation occurs via video from the visitor’s home/device or in the lobby of the Cabarrus County Community Justice Center which is located at 40 Corban Avenue Southeast, Concord, NC, 28025. Inmates are usually allowed one 40-minute visits per week. Each inmate may have two visitors at a time.
