Sending Money

If you want to send money to an inmate’s account, use one of the following options:

  • The kiosk (located in the lobby of the Mecklenburg County Work Release & Restitution Center) using Cash or Visa / Master Card. There is a minimum $2.50 fee.

  • Online by visiting JailATM. There is a minimum $2.50 fee.

The Mecklenburg County Work Release & Restitution Center does not accept cashier’s checks or money orders.

Phone Calls

The Inmate Debit Calling program uses Global Tel Link (GTL) for Mecklenburg County Work Release & Restitution Center and now offers two kinds of prepaid phone accounts:

Visitation Rules

Visitors must be registered on the Mecklenburg County Work Release & Restitution Center’s visitation website and have selected the inmate who is being visited. Visitors have the ability to schedule a visit from home on a tablet or phone. Visitor registration can also be done by using the kiosk in the jail lobby.

Inmates are allowed one 25-minute video visit per week by no more than four visitors at a time. During on-site visitation, Mecklenburg County Work Release & Restitution Center has five on-site visitation units available.

Appropriate attire is required during video visits.

All visits must be scheduled at least two days in advance but no more than six days in advance.
