To find someone who is serving time, you can do a Cass County Jail inmate search here on the North Dakota Department of Corrections webpage. Simply search the inmate’s first and last name, and you will find the inmate you are looking for, along with information such as date of birth, charges, and mugshots.

Inmates at Cass County Jail are allowed to send and receive letters. Letters mailed to inmates shall be no larger than 12" by 16".

The only item which may be enclosed with correspondence mailed to an inmate is 10 or less unframed photographs no larger than 4" by 6.”

Inmates may receive magazines or books if they are sent directly from the publisher.

Photographs and letters that contain inappropriate subject matter or depicting nudity, sexual acts, physical violence or gruesome subject matter will be discarded.

If you want to send money to an inmate, so know that Cass County Jail does not accept cash by mail or in person. Cash received through the mail will be returned to sender. US Postal and Western Union money orders will only be accepted by mail. The mailing address is:

Commissary

A commissary is a store within the jail. Inmates who have money on their accounts can buy snacks and other things from the commissary.

The Cass County Jail’s Commissary sells various products like clothing, shoes, snacks, personal hygiene products, books, magazines, and games.

Inmates at Cass County Jail may use telephones that are in their cells. Calls are free within the local dialing area. Collect call phones are available to make calls outside of the local dialing area. The inmates are limited to 15-minute phone calls, and the calls are terminated at 15 minutes.

When an inmate calls you collect, you are responsible for the fee. You can call Securus Correctional Billing at 1- 800- 844-6591 for the collect call fee in your area.

Visitation at Cass County Jail is a privilege, not a right.

Each inmate is allowed one 30-minute visit three times a week. A maximum of two adults will be allowed to visit at any one time.

A dress code is enforced for all visitors coming in to visit. Wearing inappropriate clothing (such as provocative or revealing clothes) will result in denied visitation.
