The Austintown Township Jail is a medium-security detention center located in Austintown, Ohio. Operated locally by the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office, this jail holds inmates who are awaiting trial or sentencing. The Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department has the largest number of law enforcement officers in the county and is the largest facility in Ohio. The current Sheriff was sworn in as Sheriff in September 2009.
