The Venango County Prison is a medium-security detention center located in Franklin, Pennsylvania. Operated locally by the Venango County Sheriff’s Office, this jail holds inmates who are awaiting trial or sentencing. The Venango County Sheriff’s Department has the largest number of law enforcement officers in the county and is the largest facility in Pennsylvania. The current Sheriff was sworn in as Sheriff in September 2009.

Visitation Rules
Venango County Prison requires all visitors to fill out an application prior to visitation. If you want to visit an inmate at Venango County Prison, carefully fill out the application. Jail visits are conducted in person behind plexiglass or on a televised screen from another location. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and guardians must provide proof of their guardianship. Inmates may have two visitors during each visit.
