The SPRITE Program is a medium and a closed custody state facility. However, the SPRITE Program also houses some minimum-security inmates as they are waiting to be transferred to their permanent minimum-security facility.

If you would like to stay in contact with an inmate, a great way to do that is by sending them letters.

The inmates in the SPRITE Program can receive your letters. These letters are a great morale booster for inmates.

However, if you are looking to send an inmate a letter, you will need to keep in mind that a prison staff member will be looking at your letter prior to giving it to the inmate. Also, sometimes mail can take a bit before it reaches the inmate as well.

Sending Money

The SPRITE Program gives you just one way to send money to an inmate.

You can find that way directly on the Wisconsin Department of Corrections' official website.

You will be able to make more than one deposit per calendar week now. You will have a limit of $100 per their commissary account and $100 per their telephone account. Funds will be transferred into the inmates account within 3 business days.

When using this service, you will need to know the inmate’s Wisconsin DOC number along with their date of birth.

Phone Calls

Inmates will have access to the use of a telephone, in which they can call home if they choose to.

All calls coming from the SPRITE Program has the right to be monitored and recorded. General Population inmates will have a maximum of 30 minutes a day to use the telephone.

Inmates will be responsible for paying all charges that are associated with using the telephone.

Visitation Rules

For you to visit an inmate in the SPRITE Program, you will need to fill out the following application. You will then need to wait for the application to be approved.

The SPRITE Program will accept walk-in visits between the days of Thursdays to Sundays between the hours of 8:30 am to 10:30 am and 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

However, if an inmate you are looking to visit is housed either the medium custody unit or the closed custody unit, you will be permitted to visit them between the days of Thursdays to Sundays between the hours of 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

If you or the inmate requires a no-contact visit, you must schedule them prior. You can contact the SPRITE Program from Monday to Wednesday using the following number 608-288-3356.
